Our Bank was the first co-operative Bank to get a banking licence after liberalization policy in the year 1995. By the grace of Sri Channabasava Maha Shivayogi, a great saint, Trikalajnani whose words became true today as he was predicted that, one day this Gangavathi, a commercial Town become Chota Bombay(Mumbai, now). Hence, the founders and promoters of the Bank named the bank as “ SRI CHANNABSAVASWAMY SOUHARDA SAHAKARI BANK NI.,” Bank started under the leadership of Late Sri.Manjunath Siddapur who was the founder chairman of the Bank having good quality team of Board as on 30 July,1995. As such the town grown very fast and become popular in the state as “Paddy Bowl of Karnataka”. So also the bank has progressed gradually and earned name of a prestigious Co-operative Bank of the District by its dedicated service to the people of Gangavathi Town. Bank has started its functioning with a small capital of Rs.1.60 Cr in 1995 collected a deposit of Rs.1.99 Cr and advances Present Own funds/ capital as on 31.1.2024 is Rs.19.05 Crore which was only 1.60 Cr in 1996 and Deposits stood st Rs.64.45 crore, which was Rs.1.99 Cr.And Bank has a total of advances at Rs.48.46 Cr which was Rs.1.23 Cr in 1996. So, Bank has gradually developing and now the Board has planned to open its first branch at Karatagi Town of Koppal District
